VDS leather Goods
Editorial copy & brand + product storytelling
An ongoing collaboration focused on shaping a consistent, premium voice across website, product pages, and customer communications. Translating craftsmanship into language that feels as considered as the product itself.

About the project
Van der Spek Leather Goods is a heritage brand rooted in craftsmanship and customisation. With each product made to order, clarity and precision in language are essential — not only to inform, but to guide customers through a highly personal design process.
I work across the website and product ecosystem, developing and refining copy that balances technical detail with a tactile, editorial tone. From explaining custom options to elevating product storytelling, the goal is to make every interaction feel intuitive, refined, and aligned with the brand’s artisanal identity.

Product storytelling
Writing for custom-made products requires more than description — it requires translation of material, process, and possibility. Each piece of copy is designed to guide the customer through choices, while preserving a sense of craftsmanship and individuality.

“A fully customisable leather planner, crafted from carefully selected hides and created by hand — designed to be used, carried, and loved for a lifetime.”

Editorial and UX copy
Beyond product pages, the work extends to refining the overall customer journey. This includes shaping navigation, customisation flows, and transactional touchpoints to ensure clarity without compromising on tone — creating an experience that feels both seamless and considered.
